ELLA MARIA holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Oregon State University. She lives in Oregon and spends her time ruining the lives of imaginary people, cultivating eggplants in her overgrown garden, and experimenting with her family’s recipe for carciofi alla romana. Her work often diverges into the margins of the absurd, and explores cultural narratives involving gender and unequal power dynamics, particularly through the lens of characters who subvert and resist the status quo in unheroic ways.
